Welcome to P.T.S. Fit For Duty!
Our primary goal is to help educate and prepare Police Officer Candidates to pass the police physical agility fitness pre-employment screening test. It is a fact that nearly 50% of Police Officer Candidates who are selected from a civil service eligibility list for employment as a Police Officer inside of New York State fail the physical fitness screening test and are immediately removed from the hiring eligibility list. The high failure rate is a direct result of a lack of information about the physical fitness agility test and the short notice candidates are given to appear for it.
Our second goal is to give future and current Police Officers fitness tools that they can keep with them throughout their careers. We take the position that Police Officers must always be physically Fit For Duty! Similar to how P.T.S. students who study with us for the written entrance exam go on to study with P.T.S. for their promotional examinations, we believe our P.T.S. Fit For Duty program can benefit not only Police Officer Candidates but also the men and women in blue who are already on the job!
The challange ahead of you.
In order to pass the physical fitness screening test, Police Officer Candidates must achieve the minimum requirement set forth by the Department of Civil Service. As such, you will need to meet or exceed the standards to be eligible for hire as a Police Officer inside of New York State. You will also have to surpass these standards before graduation from the Police Academy. And, once you graduate the Police Academy and are working as a Police Officer, your life, the lives of your fellow Police Officers, and the lives of the people you will have sworn to protect depend upon you staying Fit For Duty!
Now it is time for you to take a personal inventory. Are you in good enough shape to pass the Police Officer Candidate Physical Agility Test? Can you perform at the minimum acceptable levelsset forth in this chart:
